The Lucca Summer Festival is back with the great artists
After two years of forced stop due to the pandemic, the great emotions are back with the Lucca Summer Festival. Rich schedule with great international artists who will perform between Piazza Napoleone and the historic city walls.
The dates and the artists
It starts on Saturday 25 June. Nick Mason, the famous Pink Floyd drummer, will perform on the stage in Piazza Napoleone, on tour with his new musical project Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets. During The Echoes Tour, the band will offer the first recordings of Pink Floyd.
The next day Paolo Conte will perform. The concert, postponed from 2020, will retrace the entire career of the italian singer-songwriter through his most famous songs. In the year of the fiftieth anniversary of "Azzurro", Paolo Conte will participate for the first time in the Lucca Summer Festival with 50 years of Azzurro live tour.
Friday 1 July will be the turn of another great Italian artist. Caparezza returns to Lucca Summer Festival with the songs from his latest CD Exuvia. The cultural magazine Rolling Stones Italia placed him in 17th place in the ranking of the best Italian records of 2021.
On 6, 8 and 9 July, famous artists from all over the world will be the masters. Wednesday 6 July, space for Liam Gallagher and the Kasabian, to experience the best of the Brit Rock scene from the same stage in one breath.
On Friday 8th July Twenty One Pilots will be there to warm the spirits of their fans. The next day John Legend will take the stage, on the only Italian date of his tour.
Two big names in Italian music close the week: Francesco de Gregori and Antonello Venditti. For the first time together on tour, they will perform in Piazza Napoleone in the only Tuscan stage of the tour.
Stop until the evening of July 14, when the spotlights will turn on again for Carmen Consoli, Robert Plan and Alison Krauss. The Sicilian singer-songwriter will open the evening by presenting her new show, before leaving the stage and microphone to the famous duo who returns to reunite 14 years after their first, historic record, Raising Sand. They will sing some songs from their latest studio album released in 2021, Raise The Roof.
On Sunday 17 July another great internationally renowned artist will arrive in Lucca. Ben Harper will take the stage in Piazza Napoleone with his historic band The Innocent Criminals. To open the evening, there will be the young artist Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, one of the main representatives of the new generation of great American blues guitarists.
On Wednesday 20 July, for the first time in the Historical Walls of Lucca, another great representative of the blues in Italy and beyond, will arrive in Lucca. With his World Wild Tour, Zucchero “Sugar” Fornaciari, one of the most loved contemporary Italian artists in the world, will stop in Lucca.
The concert of the last winner of Sanremo, Blanco, will be staged on Thursday 21 July. With his Blu Celeste tour, initially planned in Piazza Napoleone, he will perform among the Walls of Lucca, in order to expand the audience of the participants.
Still many Italian names for the last two evenings of the Lucca Summer Festival. On Sunday 24 July, the Calabrian singer-songwriter Brunori Sas will be there, while for the final evening of Sunday 31 July Rkomi and Mara Sattei will open the highly anticipated show by Justin Bieber.
