"Paper ships"

"Paper ships" is the event that tells stories of a community that has decided to leave their country of origin to go elsewhere. Through the exhibition of memorabilia, posters, photos and letters, you will retrace over 100 years of overseas travel, of those who have decided to change their lives and leave in search of greater fortune.
The title of the exhibition, Paper Ships, celebrates the display of finely elaborated color posters, which focus on the means that allowed Italians to make these journeys of hope.

The ditches of art
There is another Lucca to be discovered. It is not, in this case, the underground Lucca. It is in fact Via del Fosso, in the historic center, and its ditches.
Photographs, sculptures, ceramics and paintings will be at the service of the exhibition I Fossi dell'arte (now in its fourth edition), thanks to which it will be possible to discover the secrets of a little-known part of the city, but of certain historical and cultural interest and architectural.
In fact, one of the most productive districts of the city developed around Via del Fosso since the times of the Republic of Lucca. The increase in activities in the district is due to the conduit which, since 1376, provided the driving force for factories located throughout the town.
For this reason, along Via del Fosso, numerous silk workshops were opened by the locals, which contributed in a decisive way to making the city one of the richest in Europe, so much so as to earn the street the nickname "Silk Road".
